Dr. John Tran
Dr. John Tran began his post-secondary education at the University of Calgary, where he studied biological sciences. In 2002, he was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Alberta. In 2004, Dr. Tran earned his Bachelor Degree in Medical Science and subsequently, in 2006, his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Tran was the top graduate in his class, receiving the Alberta Dental Association Gold Medal of Recognition. In addition, he was awarded certificates of recognition from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists and the American Association of Periodontology.
Upon graduation, Dr. Tran began his career at Signal Hill Dental Centre. Over the past four years, he has enjoyed helping patients increase and maintain their oral health, especially as it pertains to their overall well-being. Dr. Tran provides all aspects of general dentistry to his patients, with a keen interest in Invisalign orthodontics, cosmetic dental makeovers, dental implant restorations, and conservative porcelain restorations.
Dr. Tran is an advocate for continuing education and continually exceeds the requirements set out by the Alberta Dental Association to maintain a dental license. Recently, Dr. Tran has accepted a position as the program director for the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies. He also has completed several courses at the Las Vegas Institute, some of which include special hands-on training with some of his own patients from Signal Hill Dental Centre. In addition, Dr. Tran is currently working toward a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Tran is affiliated with professional associations including the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Tran’s practice is able to provide several unique treatment options including Invisalign orthodontics, Lumineers minimally invasive veneers, and conscious sedation dentistry.
In his spare time Dr. Tran enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In the summer he tries to fit in a few golf games, mountain biking excursions, wall climbing, and traveling.
Dr. Rita Soin
Since 2006, Dr. Rita Soin has enjoyed practicing family dentistry in Calgary at Signal Hill Dental Centre. She graduated with distinction from the Schulich School of Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario where she also received the 3M Clinical Award for Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Soin believes patient education and the prevention of dental disease are the keys to optimal oral health and a beautiful smile. She strives in developing open and honest relationships with all of her patients and takes pride in providing them with the highest standard of care they deserve.
Dr. Soin is continually updating her skills and knowledge and is always looking for ways to best treat and educate her patients. She is a long standing member of the Calgary District and Dental Society (CDDS), attends the annual Vancouver Pacific Dental Conference, and takes continuing education courses across North America including the Scottsdale Centre for Dentistry in Phoenix, Arizona.
Rita enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, and running in her neighbourhood in Signal Hill.
Dr. Batool Kazmi
Dr. Batool Kazmi was raised in Calgary where she attended Elementary, Junior and Senior High School. She then completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences followed by a Masters in Biomedical Technology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Kazmi went on to complete her Dental degree at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, where she was the recipient of the Ontario Dental Association Proficiency Award and Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry
Dr. Katherine Le
Dr. Katherine Le was born and raised in the windy city of Lethbridge, AB. After high school, she moved to Edmonton where she completed two years of biological science studies at the University of Alberta before being accepted into their dental program. In the summer of 2011, she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and moved to Calgary soon after. Although she still visits Lethbridge and Edmonton often, she is so happy to call Calgary home.
She is very excited to be part of the team at Signal Hill Dental and looks forward to welcoming all the new patients. She enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry and loves working with children. She strives for patient-centered care and hopes to build long-lasting relationships with her patients. With the help of the Signal Hill Dental team, she is dedicated to treating patients in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
When she is not found practicing dentistry, she will be spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys making trips to the mountains, reading fashion blogs, and watching sitcoms. She loves travelling to different countries around the world and secretly wishes she had her own show on the travel channel.
